Three Foxes (A Camera Trap Post)

So here is a post based on what the blog is named after, a camera trap in Cornwall. I had a lot of chicken pieces left over from dinner and...

Death of a Plant (timelapse)

We had some weeds in the garden (well more than some we had lots). To get rid of them we bought a weed killer and it worked really well on the paving slabs. Its took about 2 hours to completely kill the weeds. With this in mind I put the camera on one and sprayed it with the killer. Below is a 2 hour time lapse of the whole event. The plant also with some magic editing comes back to life!

P.S The weed killer is pet friendly so the birds should be fine.

Funny Signs

Here is a collection of some funny signs from the getaway magazine: http://www.getaway.co.za/page/funny-travel-signs  . These are a few of my favourites, hope they make you laugh too.

Washing Line

Last night we left the washing out to dry as it was raining in the day and dry and windy at night. It scared the animals. Oneeye got used to it but Flash took one look and ran off.

We wont leave it out at night again as its not fair on the animals.
In the day we now have a Jay visiting the bird table. The bird box, which I didn't put a camera in, has now got chicks. You can hear them from by the front door chirping and the parents are constantly flying back and too with food. Thats all for now.

2 for 1

Not much to report here really. Saw Oneeye in the dusk light and she looks well and has a nice orange coat. Also Oneeye and Flash shared a meal too which was nice to see.

On non camera news the baby birds are starting to venture out and have had some baby sparrows being fed in the garden. Other than that not much I'm afraid but hopefully will have something new soon.

Baby African Elephant Falls Over.

Found this video of a baby African elephant that keeps falling over. Thought it was funny and worth a look.

Last night we had a visit from supercat (well Barney the barn cat). He came for a meal and when he was full just took off into the sky.

Supercat away!

Its all due to the camera being at a different angle due to the long grass and the little leap looked like a take off (or maybe it was flying!). The new angle got a good look at Oneeyes face last night too.

We also got a look at Mange again (previous post) and he is really recovering well. He has wide eyes now rather than crusted over small eyes, a new coat, although in patches, but better than before. He still has his odd crooked hairless tail to identify him.

Still Here

Haven't done a lot of camera trapping with success for a while. I tried putting the camera by an otter spraint site but kept getting false triggers so eventually I gave up. The camera went back in the garden last night and was pleased that One-eye and Flash are still around. Unfortunately a cat knocked the camera down so only got half a nights worth of video. I was surprised to see how much the grass has grown in these videos since I last put the camera up. Anyway heres two regulars from last night.
