Three Foxes (A Camera Trap Post)

So here is a post based on what the blog is named after, a camera trap in Cornwall. I had a lot of chicken pieces left over from dinner and...

My Food!

After being away for a while One-eye made a dramatic reappearance. The barn cat was eating her food and this is not allowed so One-eye decided to let the cat know. She came charging in, scared off the cat and started to eat. Take a look below.

She also appears to be a lot thinner than her last visit so hopefully she has given birth. Also due to the fact she has been away for a few nights adds to this thought.  Take a look to see what you think.

Seeing Stars

Not much on the camera trap as the badger knocked it over but I have had a new SLR and decided to do some star photography. Hope you enjoy them :). Strangely the better images came when pointing towards the town in the distance. Cant wait until I can use this camera in the desert where there are millions more stars visible than light polluted Cornwall. Wont be for some time though :( .

Oneeyes Suprise

Small post, Oneye looked into the lens and really had a fright. She is bound to be used to the camera by now so wounder what it was. Wonder if she saw her own reflection?

Sharing a Meal

Oneeye and Patch have been getting used to each other at feeding times. They are now happy to share the meals at the same time. Although last night Oneye did spook Patch upon arrival to dinner

Patch later got revenge by spiking Oneeyes face. They didn't argue again and shared the food although they did wander off for a while and return at different times.

Later that night Patch came right up to the camera and looked down the lens.

A large number of the tadpoles have now hatched from the frogspawn and are swimming in the pond. They are really small at the moment only a few millimetres (mm) in length. When they grow I will get some photos here.
Oneeye is now very large and cant be far off giving birth, hope its soon.

Mange Lives On

A while back a mangey fox was captured on the camera (LINK HERE).  We ordered some mange treatment from the national fox welfare site a while back and administered it to the scraps we leave out for the foxes. This was over the christmas period and since then we have had no sightings. We thought he may have been killed by the new years day hunt as he had a limp and  was weak. We saw a half mangey fox a few weeks ago but wasn't sure if it was Mange (his new name). Last night we saw him alive and well. His mange appears to have mostly gone and his limp healed. We know it is him as he has the very distinct crocked tail. Lets hope he recovers. He is very nervous and only appeared for a glimpse but did get a got portion of the food.

The badger has also returned and had a good feed. Patch was about but hiding in the corners of shots with another hedgehog.

For the first time one eye was not sighted on the camera. Hopefully she has gone to earth to give birth as in a previous post we suspected she was ready to give birth. Lets hope so.
Also the pond now has frogspawn in so tadpole updates soon.
